භාවනා කරන්න කැලේට යන්න ඕනද නේද? මේක නිකන් අපේ බෝමන්ගේ කවියක් වගේ....

Nadeeka G's Songs and Musics.

The second track By the meaning is a version of "Where have all the flowers Gone". Its a song from mid 60's by Pete Zeger. So many other well known Artists like "Joan Baez and Bob Dillan" Sang this song but the same song. Not a different interpretation neither meaning nor musical. This guy's recreation comes with a completely different musical interpretation but with the same meaning. but I find his version kinda more poetic for few reasons. For example somewhere in the Original one it says "Where have all the soldiers gone...Gone to Graveyards them everyone..." where as Nadeeka puts it in a more poetic way as "Tharuno saru keru pasa mitiyawathe.."(thanks for the sinhala Lyrics on elakiri by Mozat) which is for me more effective. In the original song by pete zeger, the music is folk based. This version is kinda Blues based.
Bambaru song is a Folk song as far as I know. Its not a song by Nadeeka himself. But he had expaned the space in the original "monophonic" janakawiya in to a polyphonic texture with the piano and many voices. I dont think at all it sounds like Mr.Ranwala's JANA GEE for Mr Ranwala stayed back in "the traditional MONOPHONY" in Janakawiya. But I agree a bit with rapa the fact that it sounds a bit like Makalanda. But of course those two musicians creations are based on Two different Musical Roots. Makalanda is The best (and the only) JAZZ INTERPRETER of Jana sangeethaya as I believe in Sri Lanka where as Nadeeka Is Kinda THE POLYPHONIC INTERPRETER of Sri Lankan Janakawiya.
Bella Brtok in Hungary , Edward Greeg in Norway, Mikis Theodorakis in Greece and Kemadasa Master Of Sri Lanka are the greatest in this second Sector.:nerd:
