Good Morning all fellow Elakiri Memebers.

First to introduce my self.

I am a Brand Manager for a multinational company and I have been visiting elakiri for a long time but never participated in any chats. (my bad. sorry)

Ok. getting into the story.

I have created a new brand of baby care products for Sri Lanka. This product line is to serve the Lower and Middle class income customers.

The prices of these products are really low, but produced to internationally recognized standards and of highest quality for the Money's worth. I forwarded the proposal sighting that with the rising cost of living it will be hard for Low income Parents to provide the best care for their babies. The proposal is now approved.

so why am I coming here?

To ask for you all Elakirian's help.

I need to create a good and attractive Brand name and a brand slogan for this product.

Example : Brand Name : Farlin
Slogan : Your baby is our concern.

Please note that I have proposed that all of the products under this brand to be produced locally by Local suppliers thus helping our economy, helping our own people to stand up on their own and the Major reason of stop the flow of money to other countries.

So. Help me all.

Give me a good Brand Name and a Good Slogan to go with it. There's no Price for the winner :D But your reward will be to see your Name and the Slogan appearing on all these products. (it's the ultimate satisfaction of all Brand Managers / Art directors. - to see your products used by people)

so. again. HELP me ALL. to create something worthwhile for this Country. And trust me. this Brand is going to be HUGE. Because I am hell bent on making this brand the leader and help our own local suppliers.

Thanks in Advance.

I will be with you all in this thread !

It should be an internationally recognizable Name and a slogan.

because I believe that we should not stop in Sri Lanka.

Why not expand it to other countries ?? May be later. But still. I have plans for it

so it should be a Internationally recognizable name and a slogan

The Twinkle in your baby's eyes

    What Kids Enjoy

When nothing but the best will do

Well bro i'll tell my opinion on this. You said you are targeting low to middle class income customers. So i think a glittering name is not what they are looking for, they even will not buy products based on the twinkle on baby eyes, or nice sweet names. They look for highest quality and trust for the lowest price as possible.

You can target high end customers who has a choice and more freedom of money. As a example you can Make a brand like Babyballs and make round shape soup with nice dots or stuff in it. So babies will love it and will ask mom for it. Another thing you are selling this to moms and dads not to the babies.

So in my opinion many think price is something which goes parallel with quality.
So low price mean low quality and low trust. So you got to think about that first. Give the product at low price and make impression like its great quality and 100% trust. This brand is the most value for money and others are just over priced like idea.

As an example in Srilanka we have our own milk factories which make brands like Highland, Kothmale etc.. They are up to the international quality and nutrition factors also same as expensive imported milk products like Anchor and Nespray.
Same or more quality but low in price. Still all the low and middle class people go to expensive imported brands like Anchor for their babies coz they think its more quality and its something they can trust. Some even don't have ability to buy a 400grams packet so they buy small amounts daily from the retailer paying even higher price.

People love their babies than any other thing in this world so how much financial problems they face, they still try to give the best for their children.
So i think the biggest factor when dealing with babies is make them trust your brand. Price come 2nd. All glittering names and stuff comes 3rd.

    Pronto GTRZ. Point Noted.

But my soul purpose of this venture is to promote local suppliers and to make them produce high quality products upto International Standards.

As a reply to your mail., the market of Sri Lanka is divided into two parts. Which are "The people who can afford stuff" and "People who can't really afford stuff"

I am more into targeting the latter type to promote these products. But if everything goes OK., I am hoping to take this venture outside Sri Lanka.

so I am NOT going to go all guns blazing on the price thing when at the time of the marketing spear starts. I am looking to position this brand as a "Moderate cost" but "High Quality" baby products.

Well. It's sad to note that Elakiri members are not giving me any good ideas. sad!
