x86 reffers to the x86 code set. The usual 32bit and 64 bit platforms are covered by this.
the x64 reffers to the Itanium 64 code set. This is usually a high end server platform.
Unless they errornously refer to 32bit platforms with x86 and 64bit platforms with x64
You got it wrong.
x86 = 32bit
x64 = 64bit (AMD64/EM64T not IA-64) - but you need 64bit drivers for whatever that needs to install a driver. Almost all the 32bit software runs in Vista x64.
Note to kosandpol:
x64 and 64bit are different. x64 = x86-64. That's an extension to x86 platform to handle 64bit code. 64bit is native 64bit where 32bit applications are not supported, and only Itanium supports 64bit.
SP1 is when Service Pack 1 is slipstreamed to the installation. SP1 files are automatically installed when installing this particular Vista setup (which is the best way to install SP1)
