Need help with Apache Server

I downloaded the Apache server 2.2 for windows. I installed it in windows 7. There is a notification in the task bar notification area, which indicates that it's running. But when I tried to test it using "http://localhost/" in Firefox, it doesn't bring the test page, as it is mentioned in the teacher's note. I followed the instructions in the teacher's note (which are also available at Apache site) at the installation.

Can anyone help me to figure this out?. thanx
