I wasnt too.I told ya that mobo will supply enough power to stable the GPU and CPU when Ocing.@ least for sum xtent .
Thanx for da info.GN!!
It can't. PCI-E can only support up to 75W no matter which motherboard it is.

download one & run it (1080 ones uses all of my cpu & still drops a lot of frames :growl: : coz my o/b vga doesn't support hd decoding-afaik )
But the codec also can affect ne? I'll see if I can find some.

AFAIK hardware acceleration(in gpu) is needed to play those vids without dropping any frames
I downloaded WMVHD 1080p trailer from Microsoft. (Terminator 2)

Played it on WMP11 and JetAudio 6.28. Here's the task manager usage.

wmvhd1080pplaybackonjetdt0.jpg

JetAudio used less resources, and the video quality in both players was immaculate. In WMP11, video smoothing was turned off together with DirectX acceleration because they made the CPU utilize more cycles.

If you buy the X800GTO, you can make it almost as fast a X850XT which is even faster than a 7600GT.
Yeah, but without all that eye candy known as HDR, Motion blur ...etc. No use of just speeds

X800GTO is around Rs14,000-19,000 (dunno the current prices or the best deal)
    I haven't seen a 7600GT
Haven't checked the prices of 7300GT because I wasn't gonna get that how much cheaper it was.

Dont go for the X800  ;)

7600GT availble @ EPSI, if u cud afford

I guess 7300GT doesnt exist in SL

Faster?? For wt? If you wish to buy an old card, its... :( Am very sorry for you, coz its the era of 8800's and X1600's(or watever ATI), so go for smthing new. Am not insulting Mr.Alternative ;) , coz I bought my card on his advice  :) , he had to buy his card, coz he got a black market underarm deal  frm some PCH ppl and it was worth it and it was the hi end card @ the time  , which I missed by inches twice.. am :( and :) of it, coz I got 7600GS, coz I missed tht deal.

    My 7600GS clocks

    dfault : 380/533
    oc'ed : 500/800
    temp : 50-55C @ Idle , 60-65C @ load (coz of running oc'ed)

else it'd be arnd 40-50C on Idle

In my card memory came underclocked, had to overclock to 800mhz (7600GS spec dfault :( ) , Works full settings on NFSC, NFSMW ...etc

Hey, 7600GS supports H.264 HD video decoding by hardware, I hav h640w and h480p videos on my HDD, plays smoothly
Hey! 640x480 is nothing compared to 1080p (i.e. 1920x1080). 0.3MPixel vs. 2MPixel

HDR is there. And you don't use motion blur even if you could ne.

Besides, this is a temporary card before I switched to DX10. I'm saving money for a DX10 card, and already have 10k. By the time they are available (I mean the midrange ones), I will have enough money to buy one.

I don't care what he tells me. He's the one who's living in the old days. 1024x768 resolution?

7600GT can't handle the power required by advanced SM3.0 functions. You have to got a 7900 series if you wanna have the best experience. Anyway, if you think about SM3.0, it's old as well. New generation is SM4.0.

Mine goes to 80C at full load. Remember, this card's cooler is not supposed to handle the heat dissipated by a X850XT. But this is still OK. You only need to keep it under 90-100C for a video card. 45C is the idle temperature. I have to agree, the 7600GT runs cool because it uses a newer process technology. 7600GT uses 90nm and X800GTO uses 130nm or 110nm.
