Long Term Skill Shortage List Work Visa - New Zealand
The criteria and evidence below will provide you with the information you need to meet the requirements of this visa (for Sri Lankans).
* Identity : 1 acceptable photo if you apply online, or 2 photos if you use a paper application form.

* Health: You must have a chest x-ray and a medical examination as proof of your good health.
* Character: f you’re 17 or over, you must provide a Police Certificate from.
your country of citizenship
any country you have lived in for five years or more since attaining the age of 17 years.
* Bona Fide: When we decide if your intentions are genuine (bona fide), we consider all the information.
you provide to support your application

any previous applications.
* Age: Evidence can include original or certified copies of,
your full birth certificate
your passport or certificate of identity
an identity card that confirms your birth details.
* New Zealand Job Offer: our job offer must:
be current at the time you apply for your visa
be for full-time work
be for work in an occupation on our Long Term Skill Shortage List (LTSSL).
You must provide a copy of your employment agreement as evidence of your job offer. The employment agreement must include:
your employer’s name and contact details
your name and contact details
your job title
the address for your place of work
the kind of work you’ll be doing and your responsibilities at work
details of any necessary qualifications or work experience
information about whether you’ll need New Zealand registration to do the work
how long the work will be for
how long you have to take up the job offer
pay and work conditions that comply with New Zealand employment law.
We won’t normally grant a visa if your employer is included on the list of non-compliant employers maintained by the Labour Inspectorate.
* Qualifications: You must have the qualifications required by the LTSSL to do work the work you’ve been offered in New Zealand.
You must provide:
original or certified copies of your qualifications
evidence the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) recognises your qualification.
You must check if your qualification is on the New Zealand Qualifications Agency (NZQA) list of recognised or exempt qualifications. If it’s not on the list, you must provide a report from the NZQA confirming your qualification.
* Work Experience: You must have the work experience required by the LTSSL to do the work you’ve been offered in New Zealand.
You must provide documents that show:
the work that you did
the dates you did the work
how many hours a week you worked (on average)
the contact details for your employer or employers
how your work experience relates to the work you’ve been offered in New Zealand.
* Occupational Registration: If the Long Term Shortage List lists New Zealand registration as a requirement for your occupation, you must provide evidence you have the full or provisional registration required to work in your occupation in New Zealand.
Long Term Skill Shortage List
01. Constructions
* Construction Project Manager (Roading and Infrastructure) (133111)
One of the following:
- Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (Civil Engineering) (NZQF Level 8)
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil Engineering) (NZQF Level 7)
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Highways Engineering) (NZQF Level
7)
- A bachelor's degree at NZQF Level 7, or a higher qualification with the
minimum equivalent of 360 credits, which includes the requirements of a
New Zealand major in the focus areas of construction management or
highway engineering
- A Graduate Diploma at NZQF Level 7, or a higher qualification which
includes the knowledge requirements of a New Zealand Graduate
Diploma in the focus areas of construction management, highway
engineering or construction project management
- A diploma at NZQF Level 6, or a higher qualification, with the minimum
equivalent of 240 credits, which includes the knowledge requirements of
a New Zealand Diploma in the focus areas of civil engineering, highway
engineering or construction management
- A Washington Accord or Sydney Accord accredited undergraduate
(initial) engineering degree in Civil Engineering (listed - see Note 3)
- A qualification at NZQF Level 7 or higher, with a letter from Engineering
New Zealand certifying that the degree and any further learning meet the
benchmark requirements towards Chartered Professional Engineer
professional status in New Zealand
- NZ registration in the field of civil engineering as a Chartered
Professional Engineer or an Engineering Technologist by Engineering New
Zealand
AND
a minimum of five years' relevant post-qualification work experience
* Project Builder (including Building Project Manager and Site Foreman) (133112)
One of the following qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree at NZQF Level 7, or a higher qualification with the
minimum equivalent of 360 credits, which includes the requirements of a
New Zealand major in quantity surveying or construction economics
- A Graduate Diploma at NZQF Level 7, or a higher qualification, which
includes the knowledge requirements of a New Zealand Graduate
Diploma in the focus areas of construction, construction management or
construction project management
- A diploma at NZQF Level 6, or a higher qualification, with the minimum
equivalent of 240 credits, which includes the knowledge requirements of
a New Zealand Diploma (Level 6) in the focus areas of quantity surveying,
construction economics, construction management or building
AND
a minimum of three years’ relevant post-qualification work experience
* Quantity Surveyor (233213)
One of the following:
- A bachelor's degree at NZQF Level 7, or a higher qualification with the
minimum equivalent of 360 credits, which includes the requirements of a
New Zealand major in quantity surveying or construction economics
- Student or Affiliate Membership, or MNZIQS, of the New Zealand
Institute of Quantity Surveyors (with an overseas degree approved by
NZIQS)
AND
a minimum of three years’ relevant post-qualification work experience
* Surveyor (232212)
One of the following:
- Bachelor of Surveying (NZQF Level 7)
- Bachelor of Surveying with Honours (NZQF Level 8)
- Registration as a Professional Surveyor with the New Zealand Institute
of Surveyors
- Professional Associate Membership or an Overseas Member of the New
Zealand Institute of Surveyors (with an overseas degree approved by
NZIS)
