[QUOTE="GuneBhai, post: 16674387, member: 385820"] Well some other sources as you mean world bank, IMF or Asian development bank right? They are no better than the Chinese banks. But at least those Chinese banks do not put us hostage by mentioning the war. And do you believe world bank, IMF or Asian development bank do not give out commissions?:rofl::rofl: Can be. We cannot trust anyone now. Investing in harbors and roads do not go in vain. The benefits of having those are enormous. Those are the places that generate money 24x7. Making economy - to + is not a big deal. BTW during Ranil's time the secretary of finance was P.B. Jayasundara the same man as now. Therefore the credit should go to P.B. not to Ranil.:lol::lol::lol::lol: Moreover Ranil didn't have any economic plan to develop the country. He just followed what the world bank said. Is that the economic knowledge of Ranil? Mahaweli project failed. Not entirely but failed. It was intended to divert water to Northern Sri Lanka to make sufficient water is available for the farmers in the North. But it couldn't being done because if the water was diverted there was no water to produce electricity. The Mahaweli project also intended to provide cheap electricity to Sri Lanka for 25 years without maxing out the national demand. But after few years of it's inauguration we had to look for coal power plants and diesel power plants to balance the national demands. If we built coal power plants those days we would have got cheap electricity without sacrificing everything we did for Mahaweli. Yes he don't and I do not think anyone else is wiling to do that. That is why we have to push MR in order to do just that. No one else is talking about the change of the constitution. They all want to dismantle Presidency and make Sri Lanka unstable politically.
