Birth to death we live with a Commentator/ motivater / De-motivator. Whatever information we get from our Six senses, the Commentator makes a comment . Normally we without much thought, agree on these comments. We even tend to take action on that basis. Later, sometimes we regret about our actions. World over Prisons are full of persons who regret for what they had done. Then why we go on do the same action again and again; listening to the Commentator and obliging him/ her. Because we don't know that the Commentator/motivator / De- motivator are not self or "myself". It's a mechanical process which happens in the brain. In Buddhism, this process is called " Prapancha " (mental Proliferation). Whatever input we receive from the 6 Sense base, the next action is mixing it with the old data which is stored in our brain. Unless we understand this and leave a space in between the input and the out put we may take even a foolish & reckless action. So what is the Solution to this situation? There are two Apps ( using modern Computer language) to be installed; Awareness and Wizdom. Whenever we see, hear, taste, smell, feel or think , we must be aware of what is happening. Then we must be moderate ( madyama -prathipada) or take the middle path without taking extreme views. We must also treat Wizdom as a close and reliable friend. We must cultivate a habit of using these two Apps before coming a conclusion in our decision making. May you avoid rash decisions in your day to day lives ! May you navigate the Ship of your life to that glorious destination called Nirvana. 🙏🌻
