During that conflict - World war II (1939-1945) - the British people made sacrifices to defend their land against the German Nazis.Likewise the outcome of Sri Lanka 's current internal war will decide our younger generation's future, he said.    Hence we should give our fullest support to our soldiers, sailors and airmen who are sacrificing their lives to defend our motherland's sovereignty and territorial integrity from the Tamil Tiger separatist terrorists.  We should defeat all attempts to sabotage the military effort under cover of criticizing the cost of living and corruption.</blockquote>
