Yes... What's bloody wrong with it... MERS (Midde East Respiratory Syndrome) Ebola (named after the Ebola River), Zika (Zika Forest in Uganda)... so many instances throughout the history.
Sadly Spanish Flu was incorrectly named - It also originated in China. Has the Spaniards ever complained or fussed about it?

PS: There's a worse virus named the CCP virus. The Chinese Communist Party Virus. That's mainly responsible for spreading the Wuhan Virus.
