I don't think there's much difference in the COL in Auckland and Wellington. Probably 10% difference as WLG property prices and rents have gone up markedly. Just a few days ago someone from WLG called me to get some help and had a long chat. Invercargill is remote but Dunedin is only a bit higher up in COL.
It's a good country to live. I don't live there but been there a few times. Check on Christchurch too.

When you go in as a student to any country, there are a lot of factors that needs careful consideration. It's not easy to manage if you don't have a job.
Hope someone in NZ will reply.

Try to find a job since you have a degree. Several of my friend's children migrated to Canada easily.
