Less than a day after the Vista launch, OCZ unveiled a 4GB "Vista Upgrade" memory kit made up of two 2GB DDR2-667 modules rated for 5-5-5-15 timings. DDR2-667 memory may satisfy a fair portion of users who want to cram 4GB of memory in their system, but some might want higher speeds.
For those users, OCZ has now introduced a new 4GB kit dubbed DDR2 PC2-6400 Vista Performance Gold Edition. This new kit is rated for up to 800MHz at timings of 5-5-5-18 and with 2V of voltage. As with OCZ's 4GB DDR2-667 Vista Upgrade kit, users will be able to buy either the full 4GB kit or individual 2GB modules. OCZ doesn't quote any prices, but the cheapest 4GB DDR2-800 kit with similar timings on Newegg costs over $500.
