Karuna wants Pillayan removed from Chief Minister post

The rift between Government Minister Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan (Karuna Amman) and Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan continues with Minister Muralitharan now saying the Chief Minister must be removed from his post and be replaced by a more suitable person.
Speaking to Daily Mirror ‘Hot Seat’ the Minister for National Integration said that in his opinion people like the incumbent Batticaloa Mayor Sivageetha Prabakaran are more suitable to the post than Mr. Chandrakanthan who was once his ally in the LTTE and later the TMVP.
Minister Muralitharan accused Pillayan of misleading and misguiding some people behind the scenes resulting in him getting support from the government and subsequently being appointed as the Chief Minister for the Eastern Province, a move which Minister Muralitharan said he had also initially supported but now regrets.
“After getting power he (Pillayan) did a lot of bad things in those areas. We had a good chance to develop those areas if he coordinated with us. He wants police powers for the East. Why does he need that? If he asked for money to develop those areas (which were once under LTTE control) the President would agree and give the money,” Minister Muralitharan told Daily Mirror.
The Minister also accused Pillayan of spreading racism among the Tamil community in the Eastern province adding that the government is now not keen on working with the Pillayan administration until there is a drastic change in the way Pillayan thinks and operates.
“We have to select a proper person for that post (Chief Minister) and I openly say that. It should be an educated person who has good leadership and character. When you compare with all other Chief Ministers in the country they are well educated and have an influence among the communities,” Minister Muralitharan said.
Asked who he feels is then suitable for the post in the East Minister Muralitharan responded by saying there are many who could replace Pillayan including the incumbent Batticaloa Mayor who he termed as being well educated and doing a good job for the province as a Mayor.
Repeated attempts to reach Mr. Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan for a response to the views expressed by Minister Muralitharan were futile.

Hello Karuna , Dont throw stones at others when you live in a glass house. Specially when you once share the same glass house with the person to whom you sling mud at.We have a very clear picture of you hence dont require any certificate from a third party.What will happen if Pillayan comes back and say Karuna is an uneducated and unfaithful man and should be removed from the minister post ? Karuna and Pillayan must be removed from their post and take them to the court for their terroist act in the past years. Karuna killed more than 600 unarmed and innocent police personnel many years ago.

I agree with you. First of all what is your educational qualification to be a minister or MP? If you do self assesment about your moral and educational qualification, both should be removed from politics and put in rehabilitation. If not, it is going to create more problem instead of resolving problem. I hope that you had a chance to read European Union's report and Human Rights organizations reports. It is better to put both of you to face an inquiry. Until an international inquiry clear your both of you are innocent, you should be out of politics. As an ordinary person, I don't feel comfortable dealing with a person who took arm. If not, it can justify army getting into politics. Remember that Europeon uniion is not a terrorist organization. Therefore, there is a valid reason to belive their report.

Hon.Minister there you go again,following the same policies you followed when in the LTTE.Nobody should have a different view or act against the wishes of the LTTE or rather your wishes wherever you are, on the GOSL side or LTTE side. I am not a fan of the CM/ of the East but, isn't he a person supposedly elected 'democratically' in a supposedly 'democratically' held election.If you call for his removal don't you think it is against the 'democratic' principals you supposed to have espoused? So in your opinion the rest of the CMM are 'well educated' with good leadership and character, like you. Educated or uneducated is not the question here. In the first instance, if a person has committed murder, he/she should have no role in politics whatsoever and should really be sitting behind bars. How can we place our trust & confidence in murderers? You may paint these two blokes a million times over, but deep under the skin the markings will always stay.
