Optimize utorrent to get the max out!!

i have seen a lot of guys strugling with a low bt speed. check this guide to get the best bt speed.

and there are few more things to do to get the best speed.
Configure your torrent client to allow 50-100 max half-open TCP connections

download the patch and hack the half open connection limit.

here is the proof (I use ADSL 2Mbps connection, and get arround 200-240KB/s)


1. Download the patch : http://rapidshare.com/files/119393334/EvID4226Patch223d-en.rar

2. Extract the rar file and go to the extracted files

3. Double click on "EvID4226Patch.exe".

4. Press "c" to give a new value and enter 80, press enter

5. Press 'Y" to confirm the new value, Press "Y" again for the next question too.

6. TCP/IP connection limit will be patched. Ignore the "Windows File Protection", DO NOT put the windows CD inside the CD ROM.

7. Cancel the "Windows File Protection" and Press Any Key to exit the patching program. (you got to find out the "Any key on your keyboard now )

And exit the patch

8. Open utorrent.exe and go to Option>Preferences

9. Go to Advance and find the net.max_halfopen in the right side, under the "Advanced Options [WARNING: Do not modify!]

10. Give 80 as the new value and hit "Set"

DONE!! see if there is a speed improvement.

Then patch to a higher value. default should be 10 if you are using xp.
Microsoft have limited the possibility to make TCP IP connections at a time to reduce the speed of virus spreading.

My connection is SLT ADSL 2500 Pakage....

Now im geting a speed of 50KBps.... can i get more dan dat by doing dis??

there is no way to go beyond the speed offered by the SLT. But you can get the maximum possible speed. I think your ADSL package is the 512Kbps one. if it is, you can get around 50-64 KB/s (as far as i know). Technically a 512Kbps DSL connection will offer 64KB/s of speed. but due to the network traffic, you will not get that speed, but a little lowered speed. I think 50KB/s is ok.
