Here's India's stand on some sri lankan issues relating to the war and ethnic problem.
*.We should not buy arms from China and Pakistan and stop perchasing them from those two countries.
At the same time they too are not willing to extend any military support with offensive capabilities to sri lankan forces.
So we should wage this war against tamil tigers with clubs and sticks.
*India opposes sri lanka's plans to purchase 3D radar units from China and getting chinese help to establish and operate them in jaffna as it poses a security threat to India.
So Sri lanka has to be satisfied with those blind 2D radar systems India has provided sometime before which regularly fail to identify tiger air crafts.
*India wants to set up special radars in colombo during the period of SAARC summit to identify and prevent any possible LTTE air attack.
Thus they inderectly acknowledge that SL radars provided by them has no capability of identifying those flying 'landmasters'.
*They need 1500 elite troofs to protect their PM during his stay in SL.
That forth largest army in the world couldn't protect and save the lives of two of their PM s on their own territary from their own people.
*They presented a list of arms including T56 weapons,grenades,motors,war tanks and anti air craft missiles that SL is planning to purchase from China to the president during their meeting with him and demanded that SL should not make any purchases without their knowledge about it.
{May be they fear that SL going to invade their country with those weapons after eliminating tamil tigers}
*They insist that SL should immediately stop ongoing offensive military operations and bring about a political solution to the ethnic problem.So SL should never get rid of this tiger menace and should always live with it until the end of this 'Kalpa'
