I used this 4 years before..
This is the Idea..

You can download the gateway (I used free trail version for a project).
Download the version you want (C#.NET / PHP / etc). I used C#.NET
Now you need a GSM modem to send SMS. (I used Nokia 6230 Mobile Phone).
You need a driver for the GSM modem. (I used Nokia 6230 PC suit software as a driver since i used nokia 6230 mobile phone).
That's it.

This is the process..

You Script(Front End) ----> Ozeki Gateway (You can configure Driver here - PC Suite software) ----> Nokia PC Suite (Driver) ----> GSM Modem (any GSM modem supported phone) -----> you SMS will be sent to given number (number given in your script)..

Note -- SMS charges will be reduced from your SIM..

one interesting thing happened to me...
I sent SMS using a FOR Loop (I made a system for a medical center to send "tablet reminder alert" to their patients), and i put a wrong loop while developing, so it sent more than 1000 messages. I reloaded 500/= for testing. all money gone..

So, keep your balance under 100/= if you use under any loops..
