Approximately it was 335 million years old. This supercontinent began to break apart about 200 million years ago due to a supervolcano. The same volcano is responsible for the diamond deposits in southern Africa and the gem deposits of Sri Lanka and Madagascar. During these days we were located too south. Hence our landmass was covered with ice. If we had been located in the northern hemisphere as we are now, we could have been blessed with coal or fossil fuels.
