I just checked who was the god Zeus; it was Lance Reddick. I think he is a well-suited actor to cast God Zeus; sadly, he passed away. Why you angry with that? haven't you seen Morgan Freeman star for God?

Zeus is a Greek God mate. Heard of any black greeks when Olympians were a thing? And as far as my mythological knowledge goes, none of the Greek Pantheon are black. They are not black in the Books as well. So, care to explain why he is blackwashed in here, other than to make some cheap buck?

If you want to adapt a book for a show, stay true to the source. If you can't, simply create an original. Plus if they really needed diverse casting, they could've brought Hazel and Charles Beckendorf as major charactors.
I won't be surprised if they make Tyson a trans or Luke gay in next season.

For you, it could be just a random TV show. But I grew up reading these books and hence my anger.

PS - Out of sheer curiosity, may I know how did you come to the conclusion that Lance is well-suited to play Zeus?

Alexandria was a Greek town; check out where Alexandria is. And why shouldn't these guys be cast for these roles? All these are mythologies, not biopics or some historical reenactment.

Lol, Alexandria was founded by Alexander, nearly 9 centuries after Greeks started worshiping Olympians. At that time, the Mythology was well set. Your argument is same as that person claiming Cleopatra is black because she was an Egyptian Queen.

I've got all the collection, all novels by Rick Riordan. I know that Anabel Chase is a blond girl with gray eyes. But I don't care about that. There are many stories turned into movies that never follow exact information regarding characters. This is just a story, a mythological story; why bother about the actors color, not the story itself?

I don't think anybody would care if this was a new story with new characters. For me, the problem lies in replacing well-established and beloved characters or historical figures with different races and genders/gender identities to further political agendas and push forward specific narratives to the public, expecting them to be embraced with open arms. While this isn't a new phenomenon, it has recently become somewhat unbearable due to the increasing prevalence of such replacements.

Why can't these creators develop new and better stories, franchises, and characters that reflect the diversity of race and gender/gender identities they desire in the name of inclusivity? Then again, not everyone is as invested in movies and TV shows to care as much as a true enthusiast would.
