Always you are backed up by the supervisor. It is not necessary to have a unique project. You may continued a stopped project that has been started by somebody else. There are specific jobs that require a PhD specially in chemistry, physics, science fields. Also doing a PhD doesnt mean that you scarify your life. There are many Sri Lankan PhD students here in USA with there family and kids having a regular lifestyle like other ppl.Regular way to get a PhD1. Have a special degree (4yr) with a good class and GPA or 3yr degree with a master.2. Very good recontamination from your lecturers. (This is very important)3. TOEFL and GRE (for USA)</blockquote>
