hehe the IM program with a bit of attitude problem This was earlier known as Gaim. Pidgin/Gaim is the most popular IM client on linux and is/was available for many other platforms. The name change would appeal for windows users.

I thought you would be using the Windows Messenger

Having several IM networks is another problem like having several archive formats to manage. I find opera doing IRC especially useful. Else I'll have to switch to xchat (I use xchat even pidgin does irc).
