1- Yes it will be possible to emulate the PS3 as it is nearly possible to emulate any system as long as you have enough informations on it.

2- What do you mean by compatibility? You mean if it will run games? the project is not even already initialized.....So this is no sense talking about that now.

3- Someone starting the project??? The console is just out since two or three weeks and you already want to emulate it??? I think no one on this earth but sony as enough informations (I mean real technical informations) on this console and how it work to even think starting to code an emulator for it....

4- Slow or faster than PCSX2?
First comparing a potential PCSX3 to PCSX2 is the same as comparing PCSX2 to PCSX. Absolutely no sense. Why? Simply because it is not the same systems in hardware terms.
But in terms of speed, if there were a PS3 emulator, it is obvious that in our current systems, PCSX3 will be slower than PCSX2. Because the PS3 is more complex and powerful than his little sister.
