This is my experiance as a doctor. If you have a serious illness, alaways go for a State Hospital. It's free (you may have to buy some medicines outside, but that will be a small % from a bill from a private hospital), and staff is experianced so musch due to the number of patients they handle. You may not be very comfortable, but Government hospitals will have verything

Typical response by a media idiot. The Child had pre auricular sinuses, and the left one was infected. Usually infected sinuses are not operated. Doctors rightly operated the non-infected sinus, and have given antibiotics to reduce the infection of the left sinus, to operate on a later date. These jornalist thinks that they know every damn thing. And the investigation carried out by the Health Ministry has found out what doctors done was perfectly right. We should always guad against these media idiots.

You are a real ungreatful person. Thousands of people get medical attention from Ragama TH, and get well. Yes, it could not allow all those cosy things yuo are wishing. If that was the case, governemt hospitals should start charging. How do you know nurses know nothing? Are you a expert in Nursing? Don't post things you don't know. Feeling sad for the loss of your father is one thing and trying to shift the blame on to Government Medical system, which made us to stand among the developed countries is something else. There will be plenty of people to support my idea, but those people are so poor, they cannot come on internet.

In my A/L batch also there are some non-smart girls that who unable to enter the local uni but pay money and be a doctor. These type of doctors are desotry our country .


Well it's oky for a go abroad and learn and earn a engineering degree. But this is not the case with the medical degree. Because they are dealing with the human lives. Therefore they should be smart ! Otherwise please don't be doctors.

I don't agree.If docot makes a mistake, only the patient will die. If engineer makes one, hundreds or thousands will die.

I thought of exlaining what is medical negligance.

To complete medical negligance, following things should be complete.

1. The doctor-patient relationship gets established. (Ex. if you ask for a medicine from a doctor while you are jogging together, and you die with that medicine, you can't do anything)

2. The negligance should happen with commision or ommision of duties. (Ex.not doing the surgery at right time is ommision. Doing unnecessay one is commision)

3. Patient should be harmed by the act

4. The harm should be only due to the doctors fault. (Ex. if a patient who is asked to fast after a surgery takes food and dies then doctor is not liable)

5. The act of commision or ommision should be the direct cause of damage.

(Ex. patient having a disseminated cancer, undergoes surgery and dies, anyway the pt. is going to die with his illness)

These five steps should be completed for suing. Otherwise it will be a disaster, because doctor will hit back with a case that the particular person tries to ruin his reputation. And that was the case in 90% of cases filed for "medical negligance".

I strongly agree with you. There are journalists thinks that they know every damn thing. And it's a Good news for them, what they really want is to sell their news papers.
Problem is nobody will correct them, there so many peoples who talk about media freedom and the things like that but no one talk about the mistakes that they are doing.

i don't know the main story, but it seems like a huge fault by a doctor.. so u can do something against them by legally...
