i think that vista's all blingy effects can be run in XP wit double speed, my machine is a intel 2.4 B Ghz 256Mb RAM n i dont wanna install vista hehe but man this thing didnt slow down da machine tho i hav that visual tooltip thing too rokin
here are the progs for the ones who need,

Windowblinds 5.5 ..perpixel blending
WindowFX ...if u want Beryl Like effect in XP....A POWERFUL AGP is needed
VisualTooltip
GoogleDesktop - far better sidebar than vista's, and google's indexing service for search ur pc..
VTP 7...for logon n stuf

I'm not at home, so I can't post my desktop
Here is the desktop from the computer I'm now with.
Debian 4.0 Etch, no effects at all, I changed the wallpaper but can't enable compiz coz this is not my computer

Apart from the small glitches, it is pretty close to Vista's GUI
