Very well said :) yeah yeah :) My first car was a Peugeot 406 and generally in Sri Lanka nobody would recommend for that as the first car ;) When it comes to European cars its all about maintenance, if you take care of the car, it will take care of you. I think @MrCat has explained very well about the things to consider when buying When it comes to bimmers biggest issue in SL is to find a proper place to repair and maintain. If you are around Colombo it will be easy but if you are in outstations it will be difficult. Generally parts are expensive (expensive than my 406 as well) but most of the parts are available in Sri Lanka. Generally my advie is in SL do not buy the old European car which fits to your budget, always go for a lesser budget model and keep extra money. Sometimes you might need some restore. Sometimes you don't need, you can invest it on something else. Eg :- If your budget is 2.5 - 3.0 million, do not go for the e46. There could be some for 2.8 and you might need more to restore it. Instead you can get a nice e36 for under 2.0 million. If your budget is 4-4.5 million it would be safe to go for a e46 instead of e90
