SL rejects Chinese request for submarine visit: sources

Sri Lanka has rejected China's request to dock one of its submarines in Colombo this month, two senior government officials said on Thursday as the Indian prime minister landed in the island nation.

Sri Lanka last allowed a Chinese submarine to dock in the capital of Colombo in October 2014, a move that triggered fierce opposition from its northern neighbor India, which worries about growing Chinese activity in a country it has long viewed as part of its area of influence.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sri Lanka on Thursday for a two-day official visit.

I'm saying is they act like they are the best in the planet but only 1% of indians are super rich (which we all asian can be proud about, like dhirubhai ambani, ratan tata. they have done lot to the world) and another 5%-10% have normal lives like most of sri lankans do. and 80%-90% have shitties lives i have ever seen on this earth. Even the poorest of poor people in Sri Lanka have 1000% better lives than 85%-90% people having in india.
Problem is Indian's ego. They talk big,trying to play "God Mode" but can't give proper education & basic needs to stop doing things on road that people only do in toilets.

I agree with you for that. But that's the thing they have driven so far. Ego is the one thing we don't have. Even they have 1% of the richest, they proud about it. Even your neighbor bought a Ferrari and you have only a push bicycle, Your neighbor talks highly about your Ferrari, because he is your neighbor after all. What we do is total opposite. If somebody bought a new car and show it to us, from the very moment we want to criticize him, Tell all the cons about the vehicle and demolish him.

As neighbors we should be real happy if someone bought a Ferrari or rolls royce. It's good. Same for the India's achievements.
I think almost all Sri Lankans happy about what they achieved so far like nuclear technology, space technology. We are super happy for that.

What I'm meant by "ego" is not what you said. Keep talking about the thigs they have done, it's ok. "If someone buy a ferray, its ok to show off or keep talking about that, we are ok with it". But the problem is Thinking super big about India and think very less all other countries( including US,UK,Japan). This something i realized in the few months i spent in India.

Considering the life style, society in India, I think Sri Lanka has some many things to be proud about. We don't have people like ambani or tata and space or nuclear technology but life in India is nowhere near as living in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a paradise compared to India.

And most of the wealthy indians, businesses (most probably Indian government too) don't want to end the poverty in india. I don't mean that every one should be rich. I mean even at least up-to the level who don't come to poop on the road. because if they do so, India can't provide labor for so cheap price. Until majority of Indians have shittiest lives in the world 1% of the rich indians can stay rich.
