I think Mahinda is a good patriotic leader with strong backbone. At least he's upto the purpose - defeating terrorism.He may be bit cunning in politics(all of the other SL politikkos are same) but he never succumbed to international community pressure. While I have many accuses against the government, Mahinda did/doing exactly what is required to save the country. I'm only talking abt 'defence' and 'national security' here not party politics.Mahinda has done many twists regarding the international politics too. E.g: He came out of the Indian and US pressure earlier by clever political maneuvers(getting close to China, Iran, Pakistan, etc..) but same time keeping good relations with US, India and Russia. One wont see the strategic importance of these unless you think in long term outcomes.  He saved the dignity of the country many times in front of the IC and trying to made SL self dependent rather than begging from the super powers. Despite the accusations I like him because I'm so concerned about the sovereignty and integrity of the mother land than anything else.
