Presidential election first next year: President confirms

President Mahinda Rajapaksa informed UPFA party leaders during an urgent meeting at Temple Trees this morning that he has decided to hold a Presidential election first next year. The Commissioner of Elections is expected to announce the date of the poll tomorrow.
