Primavera P6 Release 8.1
INTRODUCTION
With the release of Primavera P6 Release 8.1 Oracle continues to deliver enterprise-wide, web-based project management features that improve your project management efficiencies, whilst accommodating a wide spectrum of organizations and users from across the globe.
One of the notable enhancements / additions to P6 Release 8.1 is the ability for organizations to solely use P6 Client (now called P6 Professional Rel 8.1) standalone. This was not the case with P6 Release 8.0 as Administration, Enterprise Project Structure, Organizational Breakdown Structure, Security and other settings were relocated to the P6 Web Access application. This meant that standalone users of Primavera P6 (versions 6.2, v6.2.1 or version 7) were unable to upgrade to P6 Release 8.0. P6 Professional Rel 8.1 addresses this issue by returning administration and other functions described above to P6 Client, thus facilitating standalone use.
