After weeks of dancing around the issue, Fox has officially announced that the show will return for a fourth season. After having its third season cut short because of the writer’s strike, Prison Break will return with as many as 23 episodes, according to Variety. Season 4 will pick up where we left off, following Michael as he plans revenge against The Company, Lincoln as he reunites with his son and tries to disappear, and Sucre as he adjusts to life as a Sona prisoner with T-Bag and Bellick. Prison Break has done a solid job of maintaining their fan base over the years. They averaged 8.2 million viewers per night in season 3. That is down a little over 2 million viewers from the show’s premiere in August of 2005.
