Some parents even mortgage their assets to make money for their children’s higher education in overseas due to high cost.3.  Most foreign graduates settle down abroad, thus there is no return on investment to the country.4. In a democratic country, no one should be barred from leaning a legitimate subject that he or she wishes <ul> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">So, what steps should a sensible government take in this connection.</li> </ul>1.  Analyze the current job markets both in Sri Lanka and abroad.  Identify what skills or knowledge (ශිල්ප [FONT='][FONT=Times New Roman]/[/FONT][/FONT][FONT=KaputaUnicode]ශාස්ත්[/FONT][FONT=Arial]*[/FONT][FONT=KaputaUnicode]ර[/FONT][FONT=Times New Roman][FONT=']) [/FONT]they require. Accordingly guide both state and private universities to offer demanding academic courses.[/FONT]2. Encourage students to learn more skills needed by the world than to get mere knowledge.3. Maintain the quality of private and state universities, by proper monitoring and regulation.4. Think about this important issue in a wider perspective.2. Don’t stick to the idea that the government shall do everything for us.  3.
