If you removed the HSF before this overheating occurred, maybe the contact is bad. Did u use a thermal paste?

yep man..i dunno wat happened..but i can use ma machine..now da highest temp is 97-1001 C wage thama enne !!!!!!!!!!!!1:(

wenna be ban..board eke awulak nam wenna be..mage redde bridge speed ekath wadiy...anyhow mage eka dannam off wenne ne..but mara sound ekak enawa...fan eka karakawena sound eka...

Are you using a thermal compound between the CPU and the Heatsink?

If this overheating happened momentarily after removing the heatsink (for cleaning maybe..u know), you might need to clean up the underneath of the heatsink and the CPU heatspreader (ideally with high density ethyl alcohol) with a lint-free cloth, and apply a fresh layer of thermal compound. The cheap white paste you find here is better than not having any.

    I believe that the LGA 775 chip u have... There is a greater chance that the sink is not properly fixed or the fan isnt working properly or there is a thick dust layer covering the heat sink fins. Put a reply stating which one it is...

    Ya man.. I had da same problem with Intel946GZIS. Sure ekatama oke heat sink eka board ekata fit wena locks 4 hariyata wetila nathuwa athi. Eka lock 1k hari chuttak burul una gaman oya prob eka enawa
