Quadruplets born for first time at Peradeniya

A young mother from Katugastota delivered the first ever quadruplets in the history of Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya, yesterday.

Two of the quadruplets were male while the other two were female.

The mother, 25-year-old Fatima Usama thanked Dr. Kapila Gunawardena, the Gynaecologist and Obstetrician of the hospital and his team of assistants who performed caesarian surgery to deliver the babies, two of them weighing 1.7 Kg each while the other two weighed 1.5 Kg and 1.4 Kg. She also praised the health
