According to HKEPC, AMD is considering letting its partners decide upon the faith of the Radeon HD 3850 X2 cards and as we've already seen Asus' experiment with a HD 3850 X3 card, it's not hard to see that t here's an interest from the partners to make such a product.

AMD it looking for a card to compete in the US$299-375 market according to the article, as this is the current marketplace for the 8800GTS. However, AMD doesn't seem too keen to foot the bill when it comes to R&D of such a card and this is why the company is hoping that its partners will come up with their own products.

With companies such as Sapphire, PowerColor and GeCube having made their own efforts in the past with dual X1600, X1950 and HD 2600 parts, it's not hard to see where this is heading. It looks like dual GPU cards are indeed here to stay, it's just a question if the market will accept them for being as good as a single GPU high-end card.

HKEPC recons we'd see cards in Q2, although we'd go as far as to say that we'd see the first ones showing up at Computex.

ASUS must lower their prices a bit now!

There are lot of new cards that deliver better performance than ASUS at much cheaper prices else at better performances for the same price!

I like ASUS but why the hell I wanna pay extra for brand loyalty!

Here, ASUS 8800GT selling the same price as ZOTAC 8800GT AMP! edition the difference being ZOTAC offer 700/2000 blazing spec.. Can't believe there are still people buying ASUS over that!

Hey Sri Lion its like Ferrari and Toyota hehe

    Not really! Ferrari's are winners!

ASUS doesn't even hold a highest FSB   in recent times!

I'm not saying its not good! But its overpriced! there's about Rs.5000/= different betweens ASUS x38 and DFI x38, and DFI having so much options as in tweaks and overclockability and stuff... and then ASUS over turn the whole platform because if you opt for lets say an ASUS P5E3 Deluxe you'll need to change to DDR3   now how much that gonna cost!
