But you should know that the majority of us do not have anything to do with this. I went to the University of Moratuwa. We never had time to even think of stuff outside of our academics and sports. Even in our legitimate complaints, we never took political actions. We never got or gave a 'rag'. I know the same goes for universities like Colombo. My parents are both Peradeniya graduates, where they did have a form of rag. But they say it was never physical. It was only done for fun. In every place, few bad things happen. What Sri Lankan people always do is to highlight those few bad incidents in state unis. I assure you, if you focused on the bad parts of schools, army, and religious institutions, you would see much worse things than this. In fact, some schools have worse ragging than this. Some army guys are known for murdering and raping civilians. And some religious institutions are known for child abuse. Yet, I ask you, does anyone go around saying all of those are bad because of that?I know you are a fair person. I just want you to look at this without bias. Why do Sri Lankan people hate uni students so much? Is it because we got what most people don't? Others like schools are also dependent on the state money. So why is this negative focus not on them too?</blockquote>
