Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said that opposition has so far not disclosed the name of the common candidate for the next Presidential elections, but the governemnt appeared to be jittery that the former commander, Gen Sarath Fonseka who is currently the Chief of Defense Staff would contest elections.
Mr. Wickremesinghe made these comments ahead of a meeting with trade unions in Colombo today.
Mr. Wickremesinghe said that the media had the right to speculate about the candidates, but the government was worried about the candidate and trying to surpress the media.
