It was DeepFreeze. There were a few similar products like -SteadyState
MS desktop Optimization Pack, Reboot Restore Rx, Comodo time machine etc

These were mainly used for educational, stand-alone kiosks etc (like airports, libraries etc) where many users use it and the system comes back to the original after a reboot. Quite easy to manage in these situations.

DeepFreeze is a product by Faronics - still exists to this day - but not cheap - and mainly targeted for large organisations.

anyway COMODO tiyanawa nan machg attatama oka one na mehema settings hadala tiyanawa nan..

Habai PC ekata awa virus nathi unata reset kalata passe, eeta kalin virus eka oyage files ussala eka use karanna puluwan wena dewal walata.. Something like publishing all your photos in internet.

So for internet cafes, I agree with you. Having that is better than an antivirus.
For home ues, I prefer a good internet security

HIPS disable karanne ai?

HIPS will alert you about the every move of an untrusted app, that affect the system. over time, it will give u many pop ups and not knowing what they are many of us will either allow all or disallow all.

If you dont run untrusted apps you don't need to have HIPS.
Hence,

Containment > Auto-containment> Block unknown
HIPS > Disabled

But on the other hand, an antivirus without a good configuration can also be bypassed easily.. So at the end of the day, it all comes down to best user practices and good antivirus configuration.
