Milk powder goes up again!

The government has decided to allow a packet of milk powder weighing 400 grams which was sold at Rs.195 to be raised up to Rs.275. With this increase the price of a packet of milk power weighing 1kg would be Rs.687.
Minister of Trade, Marketing Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Services Bandula Gunawardene said the decision to amend the prices was reached after much debate and an agreement was signed between the minister and companies that import milk powder.
The companies that import milk power had threatened to stop import of milk powder and as imports were restricted there was a shortage of milk powder in the market.
