My ssd is giving me shit after serving for almost 4.5 years and now i gotta buy a new one. 256GB would be more than enough as i only need it for system drive and for some necessary software, pl refer a locally available product as i cannot wait for it to arrive from a overseas seller.

SSDs like any other electronic devices do fail. During the last week I lost three of them, all in notebooks - two were Liteon and the other was Intel
About six months ago I lost two 1TB SSD in two Macbooks purchased together - within one week. Of course they replace these as come with a 3 year warranty.
Don't get scared by these stats, as my total device count is quite large.

Samsung, Crucial & Corsair ones appear to be more reliable - but I trust nothing. I always advise the user to use the on-line storage to backup, or to store everything on-line and work off them, which is the preferred method.
As a home user you need to backup.

Thank you mate, cloud backup isn't an option for Ceylonese users since our data packages are limited. I'll take your word since you are a enterprise grade user.

    SAMSUNG 860 EVO 250GB :)
    tx mate.
