So if they can make a locomotive which runs at ideal rpm with a electric motor rather a gear box, it's more economical.But a passenger car is different, you have to carry the battery plus an engine that's large enough to generate electricity to move the vehicle. A REEV has a huge battery plus a huge engine, that's double weight.</blockquote>
