Sri Lanka has never need to that much battery power to to store green energy from renewable power such as solar, wind , wave, etc. It can pump water back to dam to generate power during peak hours where the sun is not there similar to UK.

Instead of using potovoltic cells solar , Sri Lanka can use Salt and oil based solar mirror based heat generation which can make electrictiy 24/7 similar to morroco and Australia.

Sri Lanka can also increase subsidies to battery back up plans in power generations, so as to decentralise power storage , which can be put back to grid during peak hours.

CEB engineers are idiots who submiited Coal as a choice , for which all people are opposed to their plant operations, where its environmental social cost is not counted by CEB.

Sri Lanka has gas in mannar basin which should be used to generate power.

It is pathetic to relay in fossal fuels for power generation, where our foreign exchange is depleted to the maximum. We need private companies to push up green generation plans to the maximum. CEB is incompetant to invest in this green energy sector.

CEB should be divided to 4 to 5 different companies and sold off in stock market.
