We developed template fonts for the Sinhala side of Dual-script Sinhala. Essentially, the underlying Unicode code-points of Dual-script Sinhala is romanized Sinhala. Therefore, in the absence of the Sinhala font, the text would fall back to readable romanized Sinhala.The Smart Fonts could be developed to represent different orthographies of the Sinhala script such as Pali, Early 20th Century, Post mechanized typesetting, Modern Sinhala, Elu etc. A special feature of an orthographic font is the ability to flag inputs that violate rules of the orthography. RS is in the Single-byte character space (SBCS) like English and 13 other western European languages -- the aristocracy of the digital world. RS is the 15th member of this elite club!   5. Unicode is in Double-byte Code Space (DBCS) and needs special and yet undeveloped programming functions (Google 'DBCS SBCS' and learn yourself). Do you think rich kids in Colombo who do not understand what self-reliance means will actually care about Sinhala to program for it?   6. Unicode Sinhala does not support the complete Sinhala alphabet. It was designed by an American Font Maker and because Lankan officials who rubber stamped it do not have any respect for Sinhala (obviously) and did not bother to go even to the nearest Buddhist temple or the Christian church that would have shown their mistake. As a result, Sinhala cannot properly support Pali or Sanskrit.   7.
