VCI value -?
Modulation - ( Auto-sense or G.DMT or T1.413 )
Encapsulation - (LLC/SNAP or VCMUX)
Authentication - (CHAP or PAP)

That's weird. AFAIK it's the same settings for both a router and a modem. Maybe they have changed it in the last month or so. 1.5 months ago it was the same for both. I know this because I was in the ADSL maintenance section at Ratmalana SLT.

SLT help desk isn't much friendlier these days coz of the strike.Too dont call to the helpline if not you have no work for about 2-3 hours.And sometimes they fool around ya.I dont know about ur range @ my school when the routers powersupply get burnt they say its a network fault.To fix it they said they'll come in the afternoon.But that afternoon was so long that it took about 50 hours

if u want a ADSL modem .. i have one for sale..
