Wiring Diagram
ZTE ZXDSL 831 C II ADSL router comes preconfigured for SLT
Broadband.
To connect to the internet follow the steps below.
· Open a web browser.
· Type http://192.168.1.1 (Default IP address of ADSL router)
on the address space.
· If the router and computer are in the same network, a Pop up
window will appear to enter the username and password to
(1) Computer
(2) Phone
(3) RJ 45 Cable
(4) RJ-11 Tel Cable
(5) Splitter
(6) RJ-11 Tel Cable
(7) RJ-11 Tel Cable
(8) Phone Jack

open the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the ADSL router.
Enter Username – admin and password 􀂱 admin. After
entering username and password, Web page will be loaded.
· Enter the username & password provided by SLT and click on
Connect.
Note: To save the username and password you should save the
configuration parameters and reboot the router which is under
Management option.
However, if you encounter any problem please follow the steps
below to configure the router manually.

Configuration of Computer / Notebook
Change the IP address of the computer to be in the same network
as the ADSL router. (Default IP address of the ADSL router is
192.168.1.1)
To do this in windows XP operating system,
· Right click on My Network Places and select Properties.
· Right click on Local Area Connection and select Properties
· Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) under General tab and
click on Properties.
· Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties Window will appear
and select General tab.
· Select Use the following IP address option and type the
relevant IP address in the range 192.168.1.2 ~ 192.168.1.254.
· Give the relevant subnet mask (255.255.255.0).
· Give IP address of ADSL router (192.168.1.1) as the Default
Gateway
· Select Use following DNS Server addresses option and enter
following IP addresses as the DNS Server addresses.
· Preferred DNS Server 203.115.0.46
· Alternate DNS Server 203.115.0.47
· Click on OK.
· Click close on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties
window.
Configuration of ZTE ZXDSL 831C II manually with a new PVC
· Open a web browser.
· Type http://192.168.1.1 (Default IP address of ADSL router)
on the address space.
· If the router and computer are in the same network, a Pop up
window will appear to enter the username and password to
open the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the ADSL router.
Enter Username – admin and password 􀂱 admin.

> Connections and click on Add button.
· In ATM PVC configuration input VPI = 8 and VCI = 35.

Encapsulation Mode as LLC / SNAP. Click Next.
· Select obtain an IP address automatically and Enable NAT

· Check whether the entered parameters are in the WAN Setup
– Summary. If yes click Apply.

addresses manually used in computer / notebook
configuration.

· Other than the above procedure you can edit the existing PVC
also.
Configuration of web Browser (Internet Explorer)
· Tools > Internet Options, Internet Options window will
appear.
· Select Connections Tab
· Click on LAN Settings
· Tick on Automatically detect settings
· Disable all the other options and click OK.
v Now your ZXDSL 831 II router is ready for internet surfing.
v If still you have any difficulty call 1243 and SLT ADSL helpdesk
will assist you to complete the installation process.
v Visit SLTnet Broadband in www.sltnet.lk for more information.
