Message: <blockquote data-quote="cuteoz" data-source="post: 25708568" data-attributes="member: 167216">That's really good that you have a good lawyer you can talk to.. but generally most lawyers would want to rip someone off.. as most number of cases they have they can earn a living, no cases=no earning, no problems, it's better to visit with a lawyer, that's very true, and it's always better to visit with a lawyer, but sometimes things with the law is it's not as supposed to, even with a country like Sri Lanka, you  can go scott free and not having any issues, when it comes to money issues, and when you have done business with somebody.. nobody can enforce action as since the business is done.. and there is an understanding between parties.. nothing is stolen.. and things haven't got sold etc...In majority of cases, people want to finish the cases faster.. so he/she evidently will have to accept it, I have spoken to a lot of individuals who do business after this incident, and they have been taken to court over unpaid money.. sometimes ppl can go scott free, if they are totally in a mess, and is truly unable to pay... there assets etc would be irrelevant, in most cases.. lawyers judges don't go to the extent of looking at personal financials, assets etc... and if the defendant agrees to pay some sort of fund per month.. they have to accept it, if not the case will continue to drag until it is further argued.. really stupid i'd say but that's generally how law works in this country, according to the legal system in this country.</blockquote>
