He not only changed the whole tactics of ODIs but he also made our country famous in doing so. So famous in fact people used to says "Sanath Jayasuriya's country" when anyone mentioned Sri Lanka. Although he's not in form with is batting currently, he has always served his team with a wicket or two. He is I believe the best allrounder in the world. Over 13000 runs and over 300 wickets in ODIs only mind you. He really is the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be. The legacy of Sanath Jayasuriya solidified Sri Lanka as a cricketing superpower. When Sanath swings we win matches. And when he swings and misses, we still win matches cos he performs well with the ball as well as on the field. Sanath, I know you wont see this but you dont have to prove anything to anyone, your legacy is living proof of your tremendous love for the game and your country.
