LTTE underground fuel storage found - Dharmapuram

Troops of 58 Division while conducting further consolidating operations in Dharmapuram area, Mullaittivu, have found 300 fuel barrels which had been buried by the LTTE terrorists this morning, 19 January.

According to the available sources, 300 barrels, containing 225 letters of Diesel in each, had been buried in a coconut grove in the Dharmapuram area. The barrels had been properly sealed and covered from polythin before they were buried. The barrels were buried in a land nearly 10 acres, sources added.

Deputy sea tiger leader killed; fall of Chalai imminent - Sandeshaya Blogspot

Adding another huge setback for the LTTE terrorists in Wanni battlefront the Deputy LTTE sea tiger leader and three other sea tiger leaders were killed in a fierce confrontation took place in north of Chalai yesterday, 4 February, the latest military sources in battlefront said.

According to the available information, LTTE sea tiger deputy leader known as Vinayagam was killed as troops of 55 Division on mission to capture LTTE's last sea tiger base, Chalai, launched an effective offensive thrust against LTTE resistance. The intense fighting reported between 1.45PM to 2.00 PM, defence sources said.

By intercepting LTTE communication channels, it is revealed that terrorists were unable to found the body of the killed deputy sea tiger leader so far as troops continued their offensive on remaining LTTE positions in the area. http://defence.lk/new.asp?fname=20090205_05

Sri Lanka's coast free of terror; Army 58 Div links up with the 59 Div

Sri Lankan soldiers of the Army 58 Division have linked up with the 59 Division soldiers freeing the last remaining coastal stretch under LTTE clutches. The link up marks the total liberation of the Island's coastline(3560.4sq.km) from three decades of terror.

According to the battlefield reports, infantrymen of Army 58 Division completed their three-day southbound march along the coast this morning (May 16) when they linked up with their comrades of 59 Division on the Mullaittivu frontage.
