In your heart
Christianity Killed scientist Galileo . The religion cannot explain the universal science.

Yes I also personally think religion or human mind can not fully comprehend the ways of the LORD

Religious teachings should not go against Science & Humanity

Scientist only can turn to the side of eternal truth but God claims not only human knowledge to know him fully but also love with a whole heart
When I said religion's major teachings should not go against well established scientific facts I mean for example assume that some religion says that someone like Atlas holding this earth but today we know this is dead wrong
the problem here is today we know that this universe has a beginning we know that the whole idea of Buddhism rely on infinite amount of time so scientist says even time had a beginning actually for a normal person this unimaginable but the truth is sometime bitter if we've wired to believe something else

I think you got my point right

Science & Buddism on Origin of the Universe

Accordng to Lord Buddha Universe has no beginning

In the eyes of the Buddha, the world is nothing but Samsara -- the cycle of repeated births and deaths. To Him, the beginning of the world and the end of the world is within this Samsara. Since elements and energies are relative and inter-dependent, it is meaningless to single out anything as the beginning. Whatever speculation we make regarding the origin of the world, there is no absolute truth in our notion.

The question of the origin of the world was one which the Buddha refused to answer.

Scientists say something different

The conclusion of this lecture is that the universe has not existed forever. Rather, the universe, and time itself, had a beginning in the Big Bang, about 15 billion years ago." Stephen Hawking

Your thoughts are always welcome
BIG BANG= MAHA PIPURAMA----------PIPURUNE [BLAST] UNE MOKAKDA ?????????? THAT MEANS , BEFORE BIG BANG , SOME THING IS THERE FOR GETTING BIG BANG [MAHA PIPURAMA,BLAST].SO BIG BANG IS NOT THE ORIGIN [BEGINING]. SO THAT SCIENTIST IS WRONG SAME TO YOU

You are a Christian taking assumptions from Big bang theory and using them against teachings of Buddhism?

    First become an atheist !

    Know your science!

you just copy-pasted a part of a lecture just to prove a point. too bad you had to go to the edge of the universe to do that.
(In case you didn't know the reason that scientists assume Big bang and the starting of the time happened about 13.8 billion years we cant see beyond 13.8 billion light years. its the edge of this universe. find out more about "multiverse" then you'll know that our edge is not really the edge. don't worry its viable as the big bang theory.)

Quran fails when it says world is flat and Bible when it says Earth was made only few thousand years. and you all know there are many more examples. if they are wrong because someone messed with them  then your holy books aren't so holy:oo:

Don't accuse science of being imperfect. its still evolving. Theories are based on observations and many are proven. We all are enjoying comfort in products of science.

As for you guys I feel sorry you didn't find real Buddhism in your journey through religions. May be you were blinded by a blind faith?

For me, whatever religion we may have, faith is the most important thing and I respect all the religions.

For me, truth is the most important thing and I respect all the religions that tell the truth and disrespect all the religions that tell lies.

This prevents me from accepting lies as truth. Thus, I am protected from troubles I may face due to accepting lies as truth. So this wisdom protects myself.

I disrespect all the religions that tell lies due to the kindness that I extend towards the liars. It's better that they also learn to protect themselves. In turn, I again get protected since they also accept the truth as the truth and lies as lies. This way they stop acting based on lies. So they know harming others do not bring any good to them. So I am protected again. They are protected too!

There are many types of Buddhism but some versions are definitely closer to science than most other religions and they makes much more sense. Besides their principles are way better than other religions (IMHO)
And also the messages that Buddhism carries with it are so full of wisdom, which can lead to a very happy, peaceful state of mind. I dont think that there is any other religion or philosophy that takes more responsibility for oneself and that is more compassionate than Buddhism.

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

    Very true brother

Buddhism is close to science may be science is not matured enough to comprehend the ultimate reality of Buddhism
