Search for Mervin's "Kudu Nuwan" after allegations of rape

Police have launched a search for an unofficial bodyguard of Minister Mervyn Silva after he was accused of raping an employee of an night club in Colombo.

The victim had accused Nuwan Udaya Gunatilake alias 'Kudu Nuwan' of rape in a complaint lodged at the Kollupitiya police station .

Kudu Nuwan, who has previous criminal records accompanied Minister Silva into the Rupavahini Corporation where the employees were assaulted on December 26 last year..

The rape victim had been produced for examination at Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo.
