Take it to a professional then. You'll need lot more than just a wire.
You need a Mechanical (or analog) to digital converter for that engine. That's where you're going to need help from a professional.unknownk said:This is a old corolla ke 20

The accelerator connects to the carburetor. How are you going to measure the RPM from that ??unknownk said:well y not fixing it to a ke20 ... old is gold bro.
Ya i agree getting a professional help .. i was wondering whether anyone can help out to do it alone.. and i am not going to but that meter for 195$ .. obviously if i have that much of money to spend on a tiny piece that wont be any help for me ( unless racing) i would have but a new car.
What i thought was getting a wire from the alternator and set it to a pulse counter circuit and see. If everythign works fine then try to couple up with a single board computer running Linux and display on a LCD.. (like the pauls car in fast and the furious 4 ) ..
ohh enough dreaming had to get back to work
