But I didnt port the program to linux, linux being a more widely used OS around the world has a large number of key layout makers and replacers just like the system used in Realtime Singlish. Install a key map program that uses the m17n library, I used SCIM. It works well in ubuntu and is listed in package manager. After installing put the mim file in /usr/share/m17n/ directory.2. Log out and Log in or restart SCIM(or the program you installed)3.
